  34.            The small, lightweight IBM PS/note Model N45 SL is convenient for
  35.            mobile professionals who do not have convenient access to AC outlets.

  39.            they provide.
  40.                   The IBM PS/note Model N45 SL physical package is based on a
  41.            clamshell design and weighs 6.9 pounds, including the rechargeable
  42.            battery pack.
  43.                   The high-function in a small, lightweight package is achieved

  52.            The IBM PS/note Model N45 SL combines the convenience and flexibility
  53.            of a portable notebook and a desktop system, with the system
  54.            resources to run advanced applications.
  55.                   The following IBM PS/note Model N45 SL standard I/O ports are
  56.            provided:
  57.            o   External input device port for a mouse or an external keyboard
  58.            o   Serial device port for connecting serial devices
  59.            o   Parallel device port for connecting devices such as printers
  60.            o   External VGA port.
  61.                   For applications that require or perform better with large
  62.            size memory, each IBM PS/note Model N45 SL has 2MB of memory with
  63.            optional memory modules for up to 8MB.  There are three memory
  64.            expansion sockets available.  The 2MB memory module options support
  65.            memory configurations of 2 (standard), 4, 6 and 8MB.
  66.            SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT
  67.            The display, keyboard, power management and packaging technologies
  68.            used in the IBM PS/note Model N45 SL improve user satisfaction.  The
  69.            design provides:
  70.            o   Convenient weight and size for carrying in a briefcase.
  71.            o   Easy-to-read, 10-inch monochrome liquid crystal display (LCD)
  72.                with 640 x 480 Video Graphic Array (VGA) resolution, and cold
  73.                fluorescent sidelighting.  Depending on the application, up to
  74.                32 gray scales can be addressed on the LCD.
  75.            o   Efficient power management:
  76.                -   To allow productive use of the mobile user's time, a
  77.                    rest/resume function is provided.  When the power button is
  78.                    pressed, the computer enters rest mode.  All circuits are
  79.                    shut off except the memory refresh module.  If the power
  80.                    button is pressed again, the computer resumes operation where
  81.                    it left off.  The program that was running and all data in
  82.                    memory are restored.
  83.                -   An internal backup battery for changing the rechargeable
  84.                    battery pack without disrupting the application.
  85.                -   Operating speed options, selected from the set-up screen to
  86.                    prolong battery life between recharges.  In slow speed, the
  87.                    computer is reduced to  1/4 of full speed for software
  88.                    compatibility or power conservation.  Choose this setting to
  89.                    conserve power for battery operation.
  90.                -   A rest mode to conserve battery power during idle times
  91.                    between clock cycles and key strokes by putting system
  92.                    components in an idle state resulting in low power usage.
  93.                    Application, operational, operating system, and environmental
  94.                    characteristics will affect actual battery duration between
  95.                    recharges.
  96.                -   Industry standard Advanced Power Management (APM) support.

  99.            members of the IBM PS/2 family using the IBM DOS and OS/2 (R)
